This week's UBT brought up the sometimes- cotroversial topic of Divorce. Divorce is one of the tragedies of our modern society, and never before have so many marriages ended in divorce. It can tear families apart violently, and yet is socially acceptable at the same time. This Friday come and hear what Jesus has to say about this ancient and modern issues.

Mid-Year Camp is just around the corner; albeit a corner defined by late nights trying not to procrastinate over final exams and ending pieces of assessment. For those of us unable to get to UBTs there have been some rather amusing exhortations to attend. While I can’t match Alistair’s singing voice, can I humbly ask to consult your diary and make an opening on the 13th-18th of July to join us in fellowship and to hear a week-long series on the Humanity of Christ.

As you may know This Week (Week 8) is "Christianity and Islam Week"! This week we're aiming to dispel the myths many people hold about Christianity and Islam being the same, and asking people to weigh up Jesus and Mohamed.

On Monday Night we're hosting a Dialogue on "Interpreting the Quran and the Bible- a Muslim/Christian Dialogue" with Guest speakers Sam Green (AFES) and Halim Rane (National Centre of Excellence in Islamic Studies Griffith University), which starts at 7:30 in the Hawken Building (50) Room 203 UQ Saint Lucia.

Sam will also be speaking at our UBTs (Uni Bible Talks) on "The Message of the Prophets" on Tuesday and "Was Jesus (Isa) a Muslim?" on Wednesday (see attached Invites for details)

The Countdown is one- one week til class starts! But before it does we have O-Week and we need your help! Each year, new people just don't appear by themselves- we need to get ES out there and made known on campus. We do this by advertising on market day and talking to people and for this we need YOU!
So how can I help?

Tuesday and Thursday
We'll be running a stall in the union complex- right outside the lolly shop. We need people at the stall between 9-4 each day to answer people's questions, give out flyers and explain the gospel to those that ask. We'll also be visiting First Year Introduction Lecture's and helping people who look 'lost'. This is an important time of growth for ES- please come and lend a hand.

Also Thursday Night we'll be having a bit of a O-Week Mission Break Up and First Year's Socail. A chance to unwind after Mission and for us to get to know some of the people we met during it and to bring along any first year's you know. Meet for Sport on the non-Great Court side of Forgan Smith at 3 and Dinner at the Pizza caf at 5ish.

Wednesday

Market Day. We will move our stall to somewhere around the great court cloisters. Again we need people to be at the stall with a smile and looking friendly from 9-4
